No Solution Equation
A no solution equation is when no matter what you do, no number will make the equation true or correct. So if You subsitute the variable with a number, both sides will not be equal.
No Solution Equation Example 1 2(24x-6)+2x=3(10x-8)+16x
Step 1: Distributive Property 2(24)-2(6)+2x=3(10x)-3(8)+16X Step 2: Collect Like Terms {48x+2x}-12={30x+16x}-24 Step 3: Finish Problem 50x-12=46x-24 38x=22x (not the same on both sides) No Solution |
No Solution Equation Example 2 2x-3+5x=8(3x+5)
Step 1: Distributive Property 2x-3+5x=8(3x)+8(5) Step 2: Collect Like Terms {2x+5x}-3=24x+40 Step 3: Finish Problem 7x-3=24x+40 4x=64x (not the same on each side) No Solution |
